Heroes

So today is a rare day off on the ambulance. So as I sit here watching the funeral for Worcester FF John Davies, all I can think of is another hero lost.
I am lucky that my inherent risk in the ambulance is nowhere near that of the fire service. Yet there has been some close calls and I have been lucky to still be here. Anybody who works in public service (police, fire and even EMS) and the military know that there's a chance that we may not make it home. It's not just a job, it's a calling. So rest easy FF Davies. You did your job good and faithful servant.
